Mentally Ill, Mentally Well - Capstone Project

This was my capstone project I did my senior year in college. I wanted to do something in mental health to show awareness and inspire those struggling with their mental health. This is a multimedia project using various medias, materials, lights, photography I took, fake flowers, and more. The idea is to have light versus darkness. Light being hope, self-love, and happiness. Darkness being the struggle with your mental health, negative thoughts, and hopelessness. The mirrors our an interactive way to include the audience to really think about that though they are their own worst enemy they are also their best friend. The positive words link to though heart in the main piece about self-love by using hearts. All the symbols used have meaning and not one thing put on this project was just done for decoration.
